Industrial Chic

Anthropologie

Industrial Chic is a design style that has been around for a few years now. It is characterized by a mix of reclaimed wood and metal, edison bulbs, gears and any other item you may find in a factory. Although it tends to err on the side of modern, its salvaged look can blend into transitional and farmhouse style.

If shopping flea markets and antique stores is your cup of tea then the industrial chic trend may be for you. Home stores are stocking more items that have the look and feel of being salvaged from a factory or old storefront. Take the mirror above, its aged finish and misshapen sides are hallmarks of industrial chic style.

If you like this style but are not one to scour thrift stores and flea markets try one of these items.

If you are a fan of reclaimed wood and rustic style, industrial chic may be for you. The warm wood blended with metal finishes adds interest and a warmth to a space. If some of these designs are too modern for you, there are plenty of options that still have the industrial vibe but are simpler in design; like the console table from Walmart. Adding new styles to your existing space keeps things fresh and new. So don't be afraid to try something different. Just one or two new elements can make your tired room look new again.

Happy decorating.
