Reclaimed wood is everywhere in design these days. From wall cladding to furniture you can find it in in some form or fashion at your favorite home store. Generally reclaimed wood is used in rustic interiors reminiscent of log cabins with a more modern vibe. However, it is making headway in more refined spaces as well. Spaces that are more formal and traditional.
Crazily enough, it works. The texture and warmth of the wood actually lends itself quite well to more formal spaces. When paired with elegant chandeliers and tailored furnishings the result is elegant and refined. These spaces show that mixing rustic and refined creates a gorgeous space that is upscale but unfussy.
The key to pulling off this design style is sticking to a simple neutral palette. Accents of black or bronze give punch and textural elements like linen and stone create warmth and interest. Be inspired by these spaces.
