I must admit, when Pantone announced it's color of the year, Marsala, I was surprised. It is quite a departure from their prior year's choices. A bold red-brown, it is a hue generally associated with nail polish and lipstick. Just recently it has been popping up on the red carpet as well. While it is not a hue most would normally gravitate to in home decor, it is actually easy to incorporate into your space. Marsala pairs well with pinks, blues, greens and neutrals and can add a rich warm feeling to any space. Get some inspiration on how to use Marsala in your home from these great spaces.
As these rooms illustrate, Marsala is a very versatile color. Whether your existing decor is neutral or has shades of gray, pink, green or blue, Marsala will be right at home. Go outside your comfort zone with this gorgeous hue and spice things up.
