Easter Entertaining Ideas

Pottery Barn

Easter is around the corner. Which means Spring is not far behind. Yipee! I, for one, cannot wait for Spring. This winter has not been a very good one. Either there has been no snow or it has been bitter cold. Making it difficult for my children to play outside and causing them, and me, to go stir crazy.

Growing up, Easter dinner or brunch, was always a big event in our house. We would have all of our family over, or we would go to their house, I would wear an Easter dress and there would be plenty of food. After I got a home of my own, my husband and I have either hosted Easter or gone to close friends. Either way, our meal is always great and the table looks as good as the food tastes.

If you are hosting Easter this year, here are some ideas to get you inspired to make your table look great as the food you are serving.

Dress your table in a tablecloth that can take you from Easter and beyond. The linen background and tree blossom design invokes the feeling of Easter but is in colors that work well beyond Easter.

Doing dishes is a lot more enjoyable when you have pretty towels to dry your dishes with. This towel is beautiful enough to frame and use as wall art.

Give your furniture some Easter love with throw pillows. I love the chevron pattern, colors and bunny tail on this one.

Do double duty with a wreath that can work Easter and beyond into Spring.  Choose wreaths that feel like Easter but do not have bunnies or other obvious Easter references.

If you are lucky enough to live in a climate where you can enjoy your Easter dinner outside, hang votive holders for instant glamour and ambiance. Too cold to sit outside? Hang them inside for the same effect.

Create an earthy centerpiece for your table with a "nest" wreath. Add your colored eggs and viola instant beauty.

Nothing says Easter like bunny plates. Go casual, elegant or somewhere in between to suit the mood of your party.

Make sitting at the table a breeze by creating a designated seating arrangement. Using place card holders that are either handmade or store bought add style and elegance to any occassion.

Happy entertaining.
