Give Your Bathroom a Whole New Look for Less than $150

Giving your bathroom a new look doesn't have to be expensive. In fact, a new look can be achieved for less than $150. Skeptical? Don't be. All it takes is a trip to your local discount home store and a plan.

First, choose your color scheme. For my sample makeover I have chosen a navy and gray palette. Then decide what the overall look will be. In this case, it will be a modern look with clean lines.

A shower curtain in white, navy and silver sets the color scheme.

Gray towels add contrast to the navy and pull in the silver from the shower curtain.

A navy rug with a white trellis pattern adds style and sophistication.

Now it is time for the accessories.  A white vase with green silk flowers and a matching green bird add a pop of color in the otherwise white, navy and gray color palette.

A well organized space always looks great. Add these glass stackable containers and fill them with cotton balls, small soaps or other toiletries for a sleek look.

Add a pretty soap dispenser. This one has a pattern that mimics the pattern in the shower curtain.

Now you have an updated bath for less than $150. Here is a price list for the items listed above.

Shower Curtain $16.99
Towels $7.99 each
Rug $29.99
Flower and Bird Accessories $6.99 each
Glass Containers $16.99
Soap Dispenser $12.99

Total $107

If you have a little more cash to spend, you can paint the walls a light gray and the vanity white (2 gallons of paint $50) . Add new glass knobs ($3.23 each) to the vanity and a new light fixture ($65), like the ones pictured below, and the total cost for your makeover is less than $250.
