Inspiring Spaces - Colorful Kitchen Cabinets

White and gray are the most popular color choices for cabinets in 2015. Of course, wood and black are still popular as well. However, you don't have to choose what's popular if you want something different. Painting your cabinets (or having them custom made) gives you the opportunity to create a space that is uniquely you. Here are some great spaces to get you inspired.

Checkered Floor A classic '50s design element, the checkered floor makes a bold statement. Several tiles on the backsplash were painted black to coordinate with the floor. Spice up the black-and-white color scheme with cayenne-color cabinets.

No matter what your style, you can find a color to complement it. The trick to colorful cabinetry is giving it a neutral backdrop. In each of these spaces, it is the cabinet color that is the star of the show. Similar toned backsplashes and white painted walls don't compete with the cabinet color.

Afraid to try this in your kitchen? Paint your bathroom vanity instead or an old dresser or table. Once you see the result you will have the confidence to give your kitchen cabinets an overhaul.

Happy decorating!
