Dorm Rooms - Solutions for Common Problems

If you, or someone you love, is heading off to college this fall they may find when then get there that even with great planning they still have storage or decorating problems. Well, I am here to help. I have rounded up a slew of ideas that solve the most common dorm problems.

1. Storage. Bins are great, but the problem is where to put them. If you can lift your bed on risers, then use the extra storage under your bed for stowing your stuff. If you have a lofted bed then try some of these solutions.

2. Decorating.  Cinderblock walls make decorating a dorm room a challenge. Concur that obstacle with these great ideas. Use 3M Command Products for hanging all sorts of decor. Use washi tape to frame photos or artwork or hang repositionable wall decals as artwork.

3. Lighting. Outlets are at a premium so use them wisely. Use sting lights to add ambiance and get the maximum amount of light off one outlet. Alternatively, hang battery operated lantern lights from the ceiling. These use LED bulbs which has brighter light and uses less energy.
